BRINE FROM BAD MUSKAU
The princely brine from Bad Muskau
Millions of years ago, the primordial seas dried up and saline mineral deposits formed. Over millions of years, inflowing groundwater dissolved the compacted salt layers. This special groundwater has survived to this day as a natural brine. At 1,586 meters, the Bad Muskau brine is the deepest and, at 44 degrees Celsius, the hottest thermal brine production in Saxony. With a salt content of approx. 8 percent and a high proportion of minerals, the water has a positive effect on health. The brine bath relieves itching, moisturizes the skin and has a calming effect on the nervous system. We have handmade soaps made from the Bad Muskau brine, which are sold in tourist facilities and in the tourist information offices of the district, but also at various dealers in other regions.
