“For us, sustainability means helping to make life in the district of Görlitz attractive for people
of all ages in the long term.
This includes promoting the preservation of existing industries and jobs and at the same time
supporting the creation of new jobs in promising sectors in order to be able to offer younger generations prospects in our region.”

"Sustainability" is a cross-cutting issue that has a strong connection to our local structural change and to the Germany-wide energy transition.
However, it has long since ceased to be a concept that can only be reduced to these topics. The word sustainability now runs through all areas of life, which is why we also deal with the fields of circular economy, regional value creation, resilience management, fire and disaster protection, bioeconomy and agriculture. We try to identify future-oriented developments in all subject areas and then to support them in our region with suitable projects and the networking of actors.
