Slow life

Slow Life - Creation of a German -Polish pleasure region / Slow Life - Tworzenie Niemiecko - Polskiego Projektu Regionu Przyjemności: The "Slow Life" project takes up the trend of "Slow Living" and has the goal of establishing a German -Polish pleasure region. It is intended to strengthen tourism in the border region and at the same time promote the awareness of the population for deceleration, conscious enjoyment and regional offers. Together with the project partners, a definition of the terms "slow life" and "pleasure region" is developed. Building on this, an actual analysis is carried out that captures existing offers in the areas of cuisine, relaxation and health and compares with examples from other regions (benchmarking). A SWOT analysis provides recommendations for action for implementation. A central aspect is the networking of German-Polish actors to create synergies and promote cross-border development. On the basis of the analysis, pleasure experience points and a German-Polish pleasure route are created, which is tested and further developed in a pilot phase. Public relations work includes the qualification of pleasure ambassadors who act as representatives for the project. Public events and information formats actively bind residents and local communities and ensure a sustainable anchorage in the region.

Cycling and hiking to our shared heritage

The German-Czech Interreg project "Cycling and hiking for a shared heritage" promoted the natural and cultural heritage in the border region and developed new cross-border cycle paths. Connecting roads between the Saxon low mountain route and Czech cycle paths along the surrounding landscape were signposted and five circular routes were identified. One Study examined differences and similarities along the border. Despite a short implementation time of one year, the project was successfully completed with a two-day Bicycle promotional tour presented to the public. ENO developed and successfully implemented the project.

Cycling analysis

The tourism experts at ENO carried out a cycling traffic analysis on the Oder-Neiße cycle path in the Görlitz district in 2023. For this purpose, surveys were carried out at various locations along the cycle path. The results will be announced in spring 2024. The analysis is intended to support tourism providers in their investment decisions along the cycle path. The aim is to bring the Oder-Neiße cycle path back into the top 10 of German cycle paths.

Tourism concept

The tourism concept for the Görlitz district is being adapted to new circumstances and the strategies of Saxony and Upper Lusatia. Instead of targeted measures, it focuses on overarching topics such as health, sustainability and skilled workers. The concept serves as a guide for tourism professionals and is developed in collaboration with dwif-Consulting GmbH and local stakeholders through workshops and a steering committee. The aim is to take local needs and experiences into account and to ensure a future-oriented orientation of tourism in the district.

Marketing strategies for the Neisseland

Destination marketing for the Neißeland aims to position the region as an attractive travel destination. In close cooperation with local providers and higher-level tourism organizations, the Neißeland is presented at national and international trade fairs. Targeted social media activities are used to communicate tourism developments and promote holidays in the region. These measures are closely coordinated with the strategies of the tourism cooperation of the Görlitz district, the marketing company Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien GmbH and the Tourismus Marketinggesellschaft Sachsen mbH in order to ensure coherent marketing.

“It is important to us to have direct contact with tourism professionals in order to always be informed about the conditions and requirements at the base. Our work relies on lots of conversations, exciting ideas and strong collaboration with our partners.”
